‘A Short Pause’ by Beryl Cook  Read the story behind this painting here:

“We used to take out our little terrier, Lizzie, for walks through a large park, and our route took us by this hut. It had been covered in graffiti so often that eventually no effort was made to clean it – an invitation to meet Steve in there at six o’clock for something revolting always caught my eye.  Regardless of their surroundings these ladies always met there to chat and provide titbits and drinks for they dogs at about three o’clock every afternoon. I’ve added a back view of Lizzie to the group; she would willingly join them for a biscuit. Years of graffiti on walls takes quite a long time to reproduce, I found.”Beryl Cook
