AILSA BLACK

Scottish painter Ailsa Black works from her studio in a small hamlet on the Galloway coast. With a touch of humour and her love of people, animals and birdlife images evolve which capture the happiness and simplicity of the good things in life.

Her range of bold and lighthearted art, is a reflection of contemporary rural life which brings her love of the country in to your home. Ailsa’s work is popular with young and old alike, those who enjoy looking at images which make the day seem a little bit brighter.

Having trained at Gray’s School of Art and Design in Aberdeen in Graphic Design and Illustration, Ailsa has exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute and the Paisley Art Institute as well as having illustrative work used commercially, with Ailsa creating bespoke collections for products such as stationery, ceramics and greeting cards as well as bespoke artwork for several well known Charities.

More recently, her work for RSPB won Best Charity Calendar at the Callies.
