There’s a nice big patch of corrosion here for me to paint, the corrugated iron shed on the allotments. Not that the rust alone attracts me; it was also the contented people I saw tending their plants each time I looked over the fence. This was not an easy picture to compose. I was reluctant to leave any of the plants out but had to make room for a rusty shed and smoke-filled barrel, as well as make an attempt at perspective. All the cabbages were painted from a big one I bought in the market
