Beryl Cook, OBE
(10 September 1926 – 28 May 2008)
Beryl Cook was an English artist best known for her original and instantly recognisable paintings of people enjoying themselves, she only began regularly painting in her middle ages and had no formal training as an artist.  Beryl spent the majority of her life living with her husband John in Plymouth in the UK, it was here that she found a lot of the inspiration for her art.
In 1995 Beryl was made an O.B.E, the same year that the Post Office reproduced one of her paintings as a 1st class postage stamp.
Beryl died at her home in Plymouth in 2008 and shortly afterwards one of her largest exhibitions was held at the Plymouth College of Art, over the course of a number of weeks over 50000 people visited the exhibition to view her art and remember the life of an incredibly popular artist.
2015 saw the return of Beryls work to the world of licensing. The response to her collection has been overwhelming, with licensees and fans thrilled to see that official licensed product has finally become available.
2017: Beginning in June an exhibition showing never-before-seen art works will take place in Plymouth.
A treasure trove of firm favourites, sketch books as well as Beryl’s beloved cross stitch items have been selected by Beryls family.
For the very first time, this exhibition will allow fans the opportunity to purchase limited edition prints and other licensed products.
